Geronimo Festival 2016 – We’re Ambassadors!

Geronimo Festival

I’m so excited to announce that we are official ambassadors for this years Geronimo Festival. Me and my husband have had our fair share of festival experiences between us but a children’s festival is a new one for us all. Having heard so much about Geronimo at Tatton Park in 2015 I am delighted to be able to add it into our summer plans as a wonderful family day out. This year we really want to make the most of family time together and this looks like the perfect place for all of us – this will be our first family festival and I’m sure it will be a totally different, and probably better, experience than my own teenage festival memories! I’ve only heard good things about the big event so we’re looking forward to seeing it for ourselves this year.

Geronimo is back for its second year, over two venues with huge programme of events in store. Every time I look at the line up I see something else to look forward to. I know that Lucas will love The Circus Zone, where he will have the chance to test out his performance skills, and the Pasture Zone, especially as I see this year it includes the largest collection of giant tortoises. The twins are at just the right age to be able to join in too, having just turned two I think they’ll make the most of the 3ft and Under Zone – balance bikes and tumble tots sounds perfect for them. They will all love the Junk Orchestra musical installations as it gives them the very best opportunity to make noise and dance, two of their favourite things!

The Craft Zone sounds more like my pace so I’ll try to get them in there for some stone carving and totem-pole making. I like the sound of the Bandstand Zone and the Arena Zone which will have live music and displays on over both days, that will be the best place to catch up for half and hour and hopefully, sit out in the sun. I love that the event is being held in such lovely grounds which means the Woodland Zone and The Highland Valley gold and gem panning will be fantastic for having an explore outdoors.

Maybe the highlight of the whole thing for the boys will be the Geronostage Zone which over the weekend will host Mr Bloom and his veggies, Andy Day of Andy’s Wild Adventures fame (and of course Lucas’ favourite explorer and dinosaur expert), Cbeebies presenter Alex Winter as well as Cook and Line from Swashbuckle. Added to all that Justin Fletcher, that’s Mr Tumble to you and I, has just been announced to be performing his signature act of the main stage on the Sunday at both venues!  Geronimo Festival really is shaping up to be the perfect family day out. Already I am trying to decide what will be a must-see for us as I just don’t know what we will want to do first. The more I read about it the more I can’t wait to tell the boys all about it and plan our day.

Geronimo festival is taking place over the weekends of 1 – 2 May at Harewood House, Yorkshire and 29 – 30 May at Tatton Park, Cheshire. Please visit the website for more information, ticket and venue details.

Sounds like a really lovely creative place to take the kids. I would be in the craft zone too.

We’re going on the Sunday to Tatton because my best friend and 3 year old godson live nearby, so we’re going to visit them, then go to the festival. I can’t wait, the boys will love it, although I doubt we’ll get round all the things I want them to see!
