Alfresco Garden Dining #ASDAOutdoors

garden picnic

We do love our little garden; it is our own outdoor space and over the years we’ve made it our own. I’ve written before about how it really is a labour of love, so many things were donated or gifted to us and we’ve worked on it all ourselves. Each year we try and add a little more to it and it is turning out to be a lovely area for the boys. They have everything they could ever wish for in there, a slide, swing, sandpit, a flowerbed to call their own (dig up at every opportunity) a little playhouse and a mini table and chairs for their very own alfresco dining.

Garden

I love to spend days out there with them and it is a safe space for them to play. However, there is something missing…we have no outdoor furniture for the grown ups! At the moment we just have a couple of plastic chairs that we can perch on when the boys are out there or I spread a picnic blanket on the ground and we eat on that. Of course this is good fun for the children but I am yearning for a little patch that I can carve out for us, somewhere where we could sit and relax in the evening with a chilled glass of wine or maybe a summer cocktail. I’d love a space that we could use when we have friends round: we love to have barbecues and spend the light evenings outdoors but it hasn’t really been practical when we have nowhere to sit and eat outside.

Asda have asked me to use some garden furniture from their outdoor range for a garden transformation. I’m really excited to make a start on my #ASDAOutdoors campaign so I’m sharing what I’ve chosen from their lovely garden furniture.

1. Haversham Classic Patio Table

2. Retro Dining Chairs in Buttercup

3. Black Gingham Seat Pad

4. Yellow Margarita Glasses

5. Parasol Base

6. Haversham Classis 2.4m Parasol

I am just so excited about all of these and already I’m dreaming of alfresco dining and cocktails in the sun (hopefully!) We don’t have a massive garden so I’ve gone for a square table and small chairs, I can just picture us all sat round there for lunch sharing food and chatting. I’ve chosen light and bright colours because I love to have colour in the garden; I especially love the yellow chairs and I think they will look really cute with the monochrome seat pads. We have been meaning to get a parasol for a while now as our garden gets full sun from about 12pm onwards; this parasol is still nice and light so won’t seem too imposing but will offer a us a shady spot to rest in. A practical choice rather than an aesthetic one, I’ll need the parasol base to go under the table; this one is weighted so it will keep the parasol upright in our windy summer. I know it is a dark colour but I might paint it a brighter shade to fit in with our furniture. Lastly these margarita glasses are just for fun; I like that they match the chairs and they are good value too!

I’m hoping to share the photos with you once we have it all up in the garden and you can see the complete transformation. In the meantime I’d love to know what you have done with your own outdoor space?

What a gorgeous range Asda have in, and you’ve made some lovely choices there. It’s great to be able to make the most of your garden like this, just hope the weather perks up a bit for it! x

The garden furniture that you have chosen is fabulous. I love that table and those chairs are the perfect colour. A gorgeous sunshiny yellow for the garden. I didn’t know that ASDA did garden furniture but all this range is lovely. Hopefully we’lol be moving house soon and we’ll have a little garden. I can’t wait to transform it so that it becomes ours. Hugs Mrs H xxxx

Aaah Hayley!!! GREAT choices — those yellow chairs were my fave (although my boy wanted something to tie in with our existing table AND be comfy for long lazy lunches, so we went for another style).

LOVE all your picks pet — I look forward to seeing all the items in situ!!! Your garden is going to look beautiful! Get planting some lovely yellow flowers to tie in with those fab chairs 🙂 Thanks so much for linking up with #HomeEtc — hope to see you again next week! x

My husband wasn’t that keen on the yellow chairs either Caro, he still isn’t happy that I made him paint the shed a pastel green, he wanted it to be ‘shed coloured’ I just went for it as our garden is only small so I think they will be nice and bright! Good plan with the yellow flowers, how amazing will they look in spring with daffodils in the background! 🙂 xx
