A Little Bit Lately #11

ALBL

Please read my first A Little Bit Lately post to find out what these are all about, although I’m sure you get the idea. These have been inspired by Sometimes Sweet’s Currently posts so check her out if you like it!

Reading
After feeling pretty smug last time that I had actually finished a book I haven’t managed to read anymore. I read odds and ends on my Kindle from time to time and of course blogs. After being to some blogging events I’ve met some fab bloggers and I’ve enjoyed finding new blogs to read; currently really enjoying Wife, Mum, Student, Bum, Kerrie never fails to make me laugh with her posts. Do you ever read a blog and think how have I missed this? That’s exactly what I’m like with Wife, Mum, Student, Bum, it is fast becoming one of my favourites!

Watching

Hooray, Games of Thrones is back in my life! I love it but at the same time I have to watch most episodes from behind a cushion as I listen to the gruesome violence. Does anyone find that their tolerance for on screen violence is getting less as you get older? I used to watch anything without it really bothering me but now I turn away as soon as I see blood and I have to get my husband to tell me when it’s safe to look.

Listening To

Yet another sign I am getting older as I tried to listen to Radio One in the car and only managed about 15 minutes before switching to an old reliable CD. I used to listen to the radio every day in work and now I don’t know anything; I really like to sing along when I’m in the car so I get bored very quickly if I don’t know the song!

Loving
My husband being off work. We are lucky enough that my husband is a teacher has some lovely long holidays so we had two whole weeks of him being home. It takes us a few days to get into the swing of it, I’m not used to having to explain what I’m doing to people and he doesn’t really know the babies routines. Once we’ve figured out how to spend the days with each other again it’s fantastic, it’s not really a true holiday for him as he does have school work to do as well having three demanding children to contend with but I think we had made the most of it all things considered. Today is his first day back and it feels a little like the end of paternity leave all over again and I’m thinking, how did I do it?!

Thinking About
How time is passing so quickly. I’m looking at my baby boys now and sometimes it takes my breath away when I see how big they are. I get butterflies in my stomach when I think that they are soon half a year old and that time has already flown, soon they will be crawling, talking, walking. Some photographs of them take me by surprise and all those little newborn features are going. Part of it breaks my heart; these will probably be our last babies and I just want to make the most of it. It’s hard with twins as I don’t really get to spend days where we just laze around and snuggle, there is always something to do. They don’t seem any worse of for it and it is amazing to watch them growing and changing; I just don’t think I’ve had time to take it all in!

I love posts like this. They’re so nice to read. I’m not a big fan of violence but I love Game of Thrones. But they keep killing all of my favourite characters! I love Radio 1 at the mo which is hugely surprising as before we moved to Switzerland, I was really sick of it. Maybe the music that’s around right now just suits me.

I’m not sure it’s the type of music on the radio more the fact I don’t know any of it, I’ll be one of those mums who never knows anything in the charts!! I watch every Game of Thrones episode in fear of them killing off Jon Snow…even then I know I’ll still have to watch it.

Still need to watch Game of Thrones! And yes I used to be able to watch all those gross CSI shows while I was eating and the blood and guts never bothered me but now that I’m older it makes me a little squeamish!

It’s weird isn’t it, Game of Thrones is maybe the most violent television show I have ever seen! It is great though, you should give it a try x

Thank you Katie, ohh yes we cannot wait for Summer. He works pretty much flat out on week nights so we really make the most of him having time off, both as a couple and him as a father x

Hiya Hay, we listen to Chris Evans on radio 2 while we have our breakfast, they play recent stuff as well as older, but I switch off when Jeremy vine comes on! Also if you get the spotify app you can listen to music free and the Zane lowe playlist is really good! Whatever you don’t like you can just skip to the next one
