A Little Bit Lately 2

Please read my first A Little Bit Lately post to find out what these are all about, although I’m sure you get the idea. These have been inspired by Sometimes Sweet’s Currently posts so check her out if you like it!

Reading
Still going with Anna Karenina (phew) but I did finish Silver Linings Playbook, which I loved, more on that another time! I have started on The Perks of Being a Wallflower which is very unusual; it’s written as letters from teenage boy to a friend who we don’t know. It’s very engrossing though so I think I’ll finish it quickly. I haven’t seen the film so don’t know anything about it but will probably watch it when I’ve read to book. I’m trying to decide whether or not to start the Beautiful Creatures books, I love me a teen series but they do kind of take over my life until I’ve finished them.

Watching
Game of Thrones; so excited that the new series of this has started! My husband and brother have read the books but I haven’t yet. I’m just loving watching the show; its a little bit of escapism and cheers up my Mondays. Really getting our geek on at the moment and also loving Dr. Who. Another show that we both love and one I hope that will still be going when Lucas is older so we can enjoy it all together.

Listening To
Frank Turner, love a bit of Frank Turner! Between us, me and my husband have a very varied taste in music but we never, ever tire of listening to Frank. If you want to check him out my favourite album is Love Ire and Song but I couldn’t possibly pick a favourite song; I like them all! We’re off to see him this week in Manchester. I’m really looking forward to it, a night out with some good music is just what we need; a night when we aren’t Mummy and Daddy.

Loving
Getting back into the guitar. I have never learnt properly but my Mum taught me some chords and how to read tabs when I was a teenager. I’ve recently recovered my old acoustic from her house and my husband has kindly restrung it for me so I’m good to go. I’m trying to remember all the songs I could play relatively well but then getting frustrated when they don’t come easily! Practice, practice, practice!

Thinking About
Having a garden this summer! We have finally started work on our garden but it is definitely a work in progress, time and funds allowing we will continue to work on it. Getting our priorities right, we have an small patio for barbecues  a patch of grass for Lucas’ swing and room to plant some flowers. Eventually we will be adding a shed, vegetable patch and sand box. I’m dreaming of summer (hopefully) and warm evenings when we can sit outside with a glass of wine, watching the sunset.

I would love to play the guitar, I can imagine it is very therapeutic. I haven’t read the Perks of Being a Wallflower but it is on my list of the next book to read- I watched the film last weekend and it was really good so I can imagine the book is great- books are always generally better than their film adaptations! x

Perks of Being a Wallflower is a brilliant book, I would really recommend it, I’m sure you will love it! I’m watching the film this weekend so looking forward to it and I’ve heard so many people say good things about it. Playing the guitar would be therapeutic if I was any good 🙂 x
