A Week On My Feet

September 29, 2016

When I was asked to photograph a week on my feet I thought I’d be here producing five photos of my Converse on the school run and two photos of my slippers on living room rug. However, I have surprised myself and maybe we do a little more than I realise so I have to thank Luxury Flooring for asking me to photograph a week on my feet. I feel like this is the floor equivalent of when you look up in cities and see all the incredible buildings that you didn’t even realise where there. This week I have been looking down and spotting so much that I wouldn’t have ordinarily have seen.

Thursday

thursday

On the way back from dropping Lucas off at school sometimes we nip up to the park and I let the twins have a run round. I love going early on a weekday when we usually have the whole place to ourselves and I can let them run wild. I’m hoping we get a few more weeks of being able to do this before the weather turns but even when it’s cold we come back and cosy up with hot chocolates, every cloud has a silver lining.

Friday

friday

This year I was determined to do a little more with the twins in the week so I’m trying to get the train into Liverpool with them when the weather is good. We went on Friday and met my Nana in the most glorious sunshine and it was a success, I’m glad I braved it and we’ll definitely be doing it more often. I took this photo on the walkway into Central Library which is full of book titles – the library is a real hidden gem and if you visit you must go right up to the roof terrace, it has the best view!

Saturday

saturday

I knew I was going to be out all day Sunday so we just pottered around on Saturday, my husband went out to do the food shop and picked up some gorgeous autumn heather from Aldi. I’m not a natural gardener but I like to have some colour out there and these were easy enough to pop into pots. They are such a perfect shade of pink they really brighten up the view from my window.

Sunday

sunday

Sunday I went to Blog On in Manchester and caught up with lots of lovely blogging folk. It’s not often I’m able to indulge in a full day of talking blogging, my family wouldn’t put up with that. I actually took this one in the car park hidden away down the side streets, underneath some arches. I was tempted to try and get one of the cobbled roads but thought it best not to risk standing in the middle of the street.

Monday

monday

Monday is usually the day I sort the house out a bit and we lay low but we went for a little walk and I spotted all this confetti mixed in with the leaves outside a church we passed. They still had the flowers woven in the arch over the gate and some at the side of the doorway, it looked so beautiful. What a lovely time of year to get married.

Tuesday

tuesday

On Tuesday I was invited to Hotter Shoes in Chester along with a wonderfully friendly bunch of bloggers (I wonder what the collective noun for bloggers is?) Being in a shoe shop it seemed only right to include a foot selfie from there. These were the boots I picked from the evening and they are utterly perfect. I’m usually an all black kind of girl but I was convinced to try tan and I’m so glad I did.

Wednesday

wednesday

Nearly every day this last week we have stopped at the horse chestnut tree just outside of school, it is our Autumn tradition. In the last couple of days it seems to have dropped all of it’s conkers and the children are frantically collecting as many as possible. I don’t see how anyone could have as many as we do, I find them everywhere in our house! I usually leave the pushchair at home and walk with the twins to school a couple of days each week which means it takes me about three times as long to get home. I don’t really mind, it’s a good reminder for me to slow down and the enjoy the little things too.

This is a collaborative post.

Thanks Rachel, just fancied a change. I’ve had it ready to go for about a month before I finally stopped procrastinating!
