Alder Hey – The Institute In The Park

March 14, 2017

I’m sure that most people in the North West area have heard of Alder Hey Children’s hospital, it is a wonderful hospital in Liverpool and helps so many children and families with the work they do. They provide such amazing care; we’ve had to visit for minor things but they really outshine themselves as they treat and help children with serious illnesses each and every day.  We are lucky to have such an amazing hospital in this region and I wanted to help share how you can help to support it with the Alder Hey Children’s Charity Appeal.

The hospital recently moved into a brand new building and in March 2016 Alder Hey and The University of Liverpool officially opened the first phase of a state-of-the-art dedicated research, education and innovation centre alongside it. The Institute In The Park is a world-leading centre for research, with leading clinicians, healthcare professionals and scientists working in partnership with young patients and their families to produce remarkable life-saving and life-changing results.

As amazing as the hands on care they provide to children is, it is just as important to continue medical research work so they can find the very best treatments to help their patients. Within this building, researchers and clinicians work with industry to develop safer, better medicines and therapies for children to use in the NHS and throughout the world. The world class facility also provides the perfect location for all Alder Hey’s teaching and training sessions, along with larger conferences and events.

They are all set to start work on Phase Two and the Alder Hey Children’s charity is raising vital funds to make it happen. This second phase of Institute In The Park will mean doubling the available space to work on research as well as continuing it’s work as a world-leading centre for research. There can be even more leading clinicians, healthcare professionals and scientists working in partnership with young patients and their families to produce incredible life-saving and life-changing results.

There are lots of ways you can help to support the children’s charity, from donating, taking part in events or even fundraising yourself. All the information can be found on their website so do pop on over and see if you can help.

Please note that this isn’t a sponsored post, I was asked to help share the appeal of a wonderful local charity and this is how I chose to do it.
