When it comes to style, this time of year is always my favourite. By the time the light nights are disappearing I am ready for my Autumn wardrobe; the tights, woolly scarfs, bobble hats and most importantly the boots. I must confess that the last time I invested in a really good pair of boots it was pre-children and each Autumn I find myself lusting after that perfect pair to see me through the colder months. For exactly that reason it was a happy day when I was invited to Hotter Shoes in Chester to find out a little more about them and see the new Autumn/Winter range.
I’ll freely admit that I didn’t know and awful lot about Hotter, and even worse, my first thought was that they sold comfy shoes for ladies of an older generation. A quick look at their website confirmed that I was quite wrong and I had a mental wishlist going before I even stepped foot in the store. At the event we were told a little more about the company, how it started and how they make their shoes with Comfort Concept features. The company actually started by making slippers and that comfort factor has been kept going when they started to branch out into shoes. They are the UK’s biggest shoe manufacturer and their factory is actually very local to me in Skelmersdale.
After our presentation we were let loose in the store – the range was pretty impressive but there wasn’t so much choice that I felt overwhelmed. The women that worked there were so knowledgeable and I loved that they all had their favourite Hotter shoes to recommend. We were able to choose a pair of shoes to take home and I was eager to try out these comfortable shoes for myself and see if they were really as good as everyone says. I really hate it if my feet are uncomfortable and I usually always wear flats whatever my outfit. I can confirm that wearing a pair of Hotter shoes is just like wearing slippers, except it is much more acceptable to wear them outside the house!
I was very nearly swayed by a some beautiful patent brogues but I’d had my eye on a pair of chelsea boots and once I’d tried them on they were the ones for me. When I saw the County Boots they were everything I’ve been searching for; they are lovely, stylish ankle boots with a brogue pattern detail around the toe and a zip on the inside. Usually I get everything in black but I was convinced to try the tan and I’m so glad I did. I wear them with pretty much everything and I reach for them on the walk to school as much as I will on evenings out. I love that they look as good casual with a pair of a jeans as they do with a dress and tights. The leather on them ages as I wear them so already they have a wonderful vintage look and I was told not to polish them which is quite frankly music to my ears.
My other shoes are feeling thoroughly neglected as some days I just can’t bear to put my feet in anything else. They feel light on my feet; not once have they pinched or rubbed and as I walk several miles each day I have really put them to the test. If you see me in the future chances are I’ll be wearing these beautiful boots and feeling very happy about it.
Thank you Hotter for inviting me to your event and gifting a pair of Hotter Shoes. All the love I have for them is my own words and thoughts.
