Five Under £5 February 2017

February 9, 2017

I feel like we are finally starting to clear our heads after Christmas and now the shops are filling up with Valentine’s and Easter treats I thought I’d join in with Rainbeaubelle‘s Five Under £5 again this month. I still haven’t bought much the last month but I nipped out to Aldi today and found a couple of things to share so I rustled up a few more I had around the house.

I went to Aldi to buy their new Lacura eye cream and serum, I’d seen them recommended on Let’s Talk Beauty and if Vicki recommends something I know I’m going to love it. They have just come out today in the special buys and the eye cream is just £4.99! The packaging is gorgeous and I’ve finally realised that I need to start using eye cream regulary so I’m looking forward to trying this out. While I was in there I spotted these pink, white and red fairy lights and they were just £2.99! I’m so happy with them, I still have some star lights up from Christmas so I’ll replace them with these for the Spring season.

I shared a few books that I have in my reading pile for Spring and this book was one of them. I bought it in Amazon’s 3 paperbacks for £10 offer so although it is over £5 individually it is cheaper if you buy it in the offer! One – Sarah Crossan is a young adult book about conjoined twins, it always shows up in my recommendations so I wanted to give it a try.

I also bought these little Bookplate stickers from Waterstones, they were reduced to 99p and I thought they were cute. I pass on a lot of books when I’ve finished reading them that I don’t want back but there are a fair few that will always have a permanent place on my bookshelf so I’m going to start labelling them, like a complete book nerd. I can’t find them online but Waterstones has a few other designs if you fancy getting some.

Lastly, I am hoarding these Kinder Egg Joy treats. If you have kids no doubt you’ll have seen these on YouTube. They split in half and one half is the toy and the other is filled with delicious gooey chocolate – it tastes just like the inside of a bueno and you get a little plastic spoon to eat it with! My boys were so excited when they spotted them, they call them prizes. I found them in poundland on offer, 2 for £1 which is cheaper than everywhere else I’ve seen them. They make a right mess when they eat them but it’s amazing how excited they can get about a kinder egg. One of these has my name of it, I had to buy four in the offer!

I love this monthly post I really should start joining in with it. I’ve been using the lacura day moisturiser for ages and need a new eye cream so I will take a look. The Kinders are a bargain they are £1 each at our local shop the kids do love them though.

You should join in, I love going through and seeing what people have bought each month. I’m looking forward to trying these, so many people have told me good things about the Lacura range – they have a new day cream out too so I may go back for that! xx

Love the bookplates idea. I’ve purchased the same book twice because my original hasn’t been returned! #fiveunder5

Haha, it is annoying when that happens! I do think people genuinely do forget who lent them the book, I know I have and I have to message round to see who’s it is!

Wow I agree if Vicki says an eye cream is good I believe her, I will have to invest! I have bought some of those Kinder Joys too as Sam loves them, we have been eating far too much chocolate in our house the past few weeks! 🙂 Thanks for joining in! x

I have heard so many good things about the eye cream, and wow how gorgeous is the packaging. How can it be less than a fiver. I think I need to visit aldi asap as those lights are gorgeous too. The book sounds interesting and something I wouldn’t normally read, but I am trying to push my ‘book boundaries’ this year. Great items Hayley x

Hayley that cream looks so posh! Haha I may have to have a nosy when I am next in Aldi!
I love those lights too – they would be fab for the “Unicorn” room we are planning for Megan when we move. At 2.99 I can pop them away!

oh yes and its been such a drag to get back into life this new year x

Sounds like I need to get myself down to Aldi. I am so rubbish at looking after my skin, but it is something I know I will regret as I get older. I am so interested. Do you like it? those bookplates are fantastic. I love the design and what a great idea. I am the world’s biggest fan of Kinder. Those mini bars are my favourite! x

I don’t wear a lot of make up so I figure I should probably invest in skincare instead! I didn’t really bother in my 20’s but Vicki who told me about the Aldi eye cream is a real life friend and her blog is fab for recommendations, she’s the one who made me start a skincare routine and stop using wipes to clean my face! Both the Aldi eye cream and serum are great…the serum smells a bit odd to me but it doesn’t stick around, such an amazing price! I can’t buy the mini kinder bars in for the boys as I’ll just eat them myself 🙂 xx

What the what?? I keep seeing kinder joys everywhere but I thought they were just some new toy range. I need to get some tomorrow now! And oh I so need more eye cream. I’ve actually finished an entire jar for the first time in my life.
