Five Under £5 November

If you’d like to join in with Five Under £5 you can head on over to Julia’s blog Rainbeaubelle and link up. It’s a great way to find cute bargains each month and I love sharing the things I’ve found.

I’ve been flying through books this month to the point where I have really had to limit my Kindle purchases as it’s getting out of hand. I bought The Red Queen for my Kindle several months ago now and struggled to get into it. Just a few days ago I started it again and just flew through it, I absolutely loved it and I’m not sure why I didn’t get into first time round, maybe it has a slow start. If you’re a fan of The Hunger Games and The Magician’s Guild this is a bit of a mix between the two – it’s an easy, entertaining read. At the moment this and it’s follow up book The Glass Sword are £4.99.

I nipped into H&M today to return some clothes I’d bought for the boys and ended up coming out with this cute yellow knitted headband which was £4.99 and the gold bar necklace which was on sale and was actually only £1 when I got to the till! I love anything in this mustard yellow colour and I was originally looking for a new bobble hat but this caught my eye. I’ve tried it on at home though and I’m not sure, I think it clashes a little with my hair but I’ll persevere.five-under-5-novI went a little crazy in Home Bargains a few weeks ago buying stocking fillers for Christmas – they have so many Star Wars products it is perfect for Lucas. I always like to buy them notepads, pens, toothbrushes, socks, all little treats to go alongside their main Christmas present. I can’t remember how much these Star Wars gel pens were now but they won’t have been a lot. I got these for Lucas and some Paw Patrol ones for the twins as well as notebooks, pencil cases and rubbers. I bought a lot but as I need to get three of everything and I love getting it at a bargain price.

five-under-5-nov-2While I was there I also got this set of three little notebooks for me. I’ve been saving them knowing I’d need to photograph them so I’ve only just opened them up and found that one is lined pages, one is grids and one is dots which makes me really excited, I love dotted notebooks! I started my Bullet Journal a few months ago but I don’t take it everywhere with me, I thought these would be handy to keep in my bag to jot things down in when I’m on the go. They are super cute covers too and only 99p.

Even though it is early November I am still getting excited to see Christmas starting to creep into the shops, next month’s Five Under £5 will definitely have a few festive items!

We need a trip in to H&M, Home Bargain & a festive drink in Costa when I am up at the end of the month. I am loving your 5 finds this month, that necklace is beautiful and I like the colour of the headband too. Very Autumnal.

I popped into Home Bargains yesterday as I hadn’t been in for months and came out £40 poorer. Got some great Star Wars things too for the teen for Christmas. I love those notebooks, and great that they are all different. Love that you are embracing bullet journalling. And I love the mustard colour and think it would look fantastic with your hair colouring x

And the necklace? Hello! You can’t go wrong for a quid! I may have to nip back to our H&M and see what they have. A great haul for this month… your blog always reminds me I need to read more xx

I got a jumper a similar colour from the mens department in Primark but it’s not very soft and snuggley which is a shame! I have only managed to get back into reading now the twins are older, I had no chance the first two years of their life!! xx

What lovely things! I think you should definitely press on with the headband, it’s really cool and I love the colour too. I can never resist a little gold necklace either! I need to start shopping for stocking fillers, it soon creeps up doesn’t it. I miss living round the corner from Home Bargains! X

I don’t think I’ll ever be good at doing bullet journals but I do love admiring yours. And I really need to find those Star Wars pens!

We went into Home Bargains today to buy bits for shoe boxes and you are so right! I’m going to head back to buy some Star Wars things for the boys’ stockings. They are Star Wars mad, despite knowing very little about it. It’s amazing how they seem to know things. It is one of the best shops in the world!!!! x

Lucas watches the films now with his Dad (who is SO happy that he loves it) but he’s the same, he likes loads of stuff that he hasn’t even seen, I think it comes from school. I think I’ve got pretty much all their stocking fillers from Home Bargains, I was amazed at what they had! xx

I don’t think I could live without Home Bargains or as I call it Home and Bargain (I’m sure it was called that many years ago, although I am probably imagining it) I just love the fact that you never know what you are going to find in there and the prices are just right for a frugal lady like myself. That headband is such a pretty colour, I tried a black one on but it looks odd on my head ha ha!
I’m really trying to get back into reading especially since my sister has given me her old Kindle. I still always seem to find a 1000 to do instead. Sounds like you’ve got your hands full too. Looking forward to the festive stuff next month, I suspect we will all be very merry xx

I actually call it Home and Bargain too, I try to remember to correct myself when I write about it! Where are you from? I think the first one opened in Liverpool and it was actually Home and Bargain so that’s why a lot of people in the North West still call it that! Yes, the headband still looks odd my head!! I should have definitely tried it on in the shop, it’s never going to look right I think I’ll have to give up on it but glad it isn’t just me xx
