Five Under £5 February

Five Under 5 Feb (1 of 5)

I love that time each month when Five under £5 comes around and I can have a quick nosy round the house and see what cute bits and pieces I picked up this last month. We’ve been working on updating Lucas room before we make a start on the twin’s bedroom so I’ve spent a lot of time trying to hunt out things to fit in there. I have also bought a few treats for myself this month, this time of year is miserable so I think we all need something to brighten the days.

This month’s link up has fallen just after a shopping trip in Liverpool and no shopping trip would be complete without a look around Lush. It is full of Valentines themed bath bombs, I’m not really that big on Valentines Day and couldn’t get near the bath bombs anyway! I managed to fight my way through to the bubble bars and very nearly picked up the new ladybird one but then this little yellow beauty just called out to me. The Yuzu and Cocoa bubbleroon smells beautiful, really fresh and fruity. They are £3.75 and similar to another of my favourites, Rose Jam, I love them because they are easy to break up and get a few baths out of. I still have some left from my Christmas stash so this is going in my bathroom ready for spring.

While I was in Liverpool I also nipped into Primark and got a canvas shopper for £1.50. They have loads of different ones with cute designs but this one caught my eye. I’m trying to make an effort to remember to take shopping bags with me now so I’m keeping them everywhere in the hopes I’ll always have one to hand while I’m out. These ones are a little prettier than my supermarket bag for life ones!

We have made a start on decorating Lucas’ bedroom so a couple of bits for this month are for that. First place I visit when we start working on the home is Ikea, we were getting him a new bed (definitely not under £5!) and I also got a load of their cheap photo frames, I think this one was about £1.75 and I’ve popped a Mr Tiger Goes Wild postcard in it. I’ve ordered a couple of prints and I’m going to put some of my favourite photos up in his room too so these photo frames are perfect. I also got the multicoloured rug which is serving as the background in my photos for only £5! His room is tiny so I was looking for something small that would make the beige carpet look a little more interesting. It looks very rustic but fits in to the adventurer theme we are going for.

Lastly is this amazing Moser Roth chocolate from Aldi, I always call it Mister Roth on the shopping list but my husband knows what I mean. I can’t quite remember how much it is but I know it is no more than £3. They have lots of different flavours but this dark chocolate and sea salt is simply wonderful. They are split up into individual bars, so I try to only have one at a time. My only issue is that there are five in the pack which means we have to fight over the last one. I usually win and dark chocolate is meant to be good for you so I convince myself it is better than snacking on creme eggs.

That chocolate is so good for you that it is almost one of your five a day ha! A lovely list Hayley, I love that rug and the print for Lucas’ room, it’s going to look fab! I love the idea of Lush but my skin is too sensitive, like your boys, but I always buy presents from there to get my fix. There are so many canvas bags around at the moment, in some great designs, this one is ace – did you see what I did there?!? Ha! Take care lovely xxx

Haha, love your outlook on chocolate Lisa, you could very well be right there! Oh such a shame you can’t use Lush, we just about get away with the really plain ones with the boys, butterball and butterbear they are ok with but anything else just sets them off 🙁 xx

I know, I was so thrilled to get such a bargain. I’ll admit it’s not particularly soft but is fine for Lucas’ room, he only scatters Lego all over it anyway 🙂 xx

I love the bag Hayley! Take a look at a company called Eco Chic (http://www.eco-chic.eu/products/foldable-shopper/), i have become addicted to their foldable shopping bags. Perfect as I can fit about 3 in the bag when we go into town for ‘unexpected’ purchases! Bargain rug – love it!

Oh Mister Roth, I love that too! Great minds eh. I think I need a bit of dark chocolate at least once a day, to get me by! I haven’t seen those Primark bags but they are ace aren’t they – pardon the pun 🙂 And Lush bath bombs, I have one of those in this month, they are always a little treat to cheer us up. Thanks for joining in again lovely xxx

I can almost smell that bath bomb through the screen. Yum!! I received a whole box of bath bombs for Christmas. A whole box!! Of which I’ve tried none. And now they’re all gone. Two little boys who can’t get enough of them. So next Christmas, I’m buying them their own box, instead.

I love all of these, that rug! What a bargain! Ellie, my eldest, got herself a tote from Primark and I put mine back…kind of regretting it now as she used it the other day and it holds loads! #fiveunder5

I’ve never heard of that chocolate but i think I’m going to have to get some. I should also get some canvas bags whilst I’m at it. I’m fast building up the countries supply of bags for life in my house!
