Smiggle Store – Liverpool One

As someone who loves stationery, of course, Smiggle popped up on my radar a few months ago but I’d never actually been inside a Smiggle Store. Smiggle are an Australian company who are dedicated to creating fun, original and affordable stationery and I’ve curiously walked past their shops chock full of brightly coloured treats wondering if I should go in. Smiggle have recently opened a brand new store in Liverpool One so when I was asked along to the new store I knew I had to go and see what all the fuss was about.

I took Lucas along with me to help choose some items from their range and his eyes lit up from the moment we stepped through the door. I think I underestimated just how much Lucas would love it, his eyes were all over the place and it really is like a treasure trove for kids. Everywhere you look there is something to grab your attention and they such an amazing range of products. I loved the backpacks and lunchboxes and Lucas loved the pencil cases with all sorts of pop out compartments and buttons to press. So many things were scented, rainbow coloured, glittery and I liked that the designs were so different to the usual stationery you see for children.

Smiggle New Store LiverpoolTrying to choose something was a near impossible task but with the help of the shop assistants we finally came out with some treats of our own. Nearly everything in there is hands on and they have lots of products on the shelves unwrapped for you to try out for yourself. The shop assistants are so friendly and happily demonstrated some of the gadgets to Lucas before he had a go himself. He tried out the Goo Glopper which is basically a tub of slime and a little plastic ‘goo-eater’ which sucks up the slime and spits it back out. Obviously this was the greatest thing ever to a five year old boy. She also let him try out the spy pen which was one of my favourites – it is a double ended pen, one side is normal ball point and the other is an invisible marker which only shows up under the attached UV light in the lid of the pen!

I wanted to get a few of the smaller products so we could try out a few different things. In the end Lucas went for a spy pen, notebook, snapband and a goo glopper (after the demonstration of this I knew there was no way we’d be leaving the shop without one. I also bought snapbands for the twins as well as scented rainbow pencils and the cutest tub of arctic animal erasers. In total everything came to £31.50 and as it was opening weekend we received a goodie bag with a giant slinky, a rainbow pen and another snapband with times tables on the back (might be keeping that one for myself).

I love buying children things that are a bit different and Smiggle is perfect for that. With three boys it’s easy for our home to be overrun with toys so at Christmas we try to keep it simple. Their stocking fillers always include books, stationery, pens, lunchboxes and they are the things that I enjoy buying for them as I know they’ll still be being used well after Christmas Day. The snapbands and spy pen have been the greatest hit with my boys, they are great quality and have been used nearly every day since we bought them. I will definitely be getting more of both for stocking fillers and probably the pop out pencil case that Lucas immediately added to his Christmas list!

If you haven’t yet been in a Smiggle store then I would definitely recommend you do, with or without the kids, it is so much fun. Smiggle Store Liverpool One

Thank you Smiggle for inviting me along to your wonderful store in Liverpool. I was gifted a £25 giftcard to spend in store. All words and thoughts are my own.

Oh Hayley it all looks SO good. I think I’d go nuts for the pens alone and want to keep writing my name everywhere 🙂 I’m going to have to go!
