Sometimes I feel like I should branch out a little when it comes to shoes – I must confess I live in trainers. When I’m chasing round after three little boys, doing the school run, running after them in the playground I need to be comfortable and luckily trainers are so stylish now I don’t ever feel like I’m dressing down just to be able to walk in comfort. When Kurt Geiger asked me if I’d like to try out some of their shoes I initially thought of their heels, whilst beautiful I knew they weren’t for me. However, as I looked around the website to choose a pair for myself and Lucas I was very pleased to see page after page of gorgeous casual shoes and trainers. I eventually narrowed it down to these quite lovely LAVA Nude Flat Low Top trainers for me and a good old pair of Converse for Lucas.
I’ve mentioned before that I’m getting into this idea of a capsule wardrobe so I’m trying to choose items that are high quality and versatile. The idea is I won’t have as many items in my wardrobe but they will all be wearable, I know I’m guilty of succumbing to a trend only to realise I won’t actually wear it when I get it home. This was in the back of my mind when selecting these, I know that these trainers will go with most of my everyday wear but that I’ll also be able to wear them with a couple of my favourite midi dresses too.
As soon as they arrived I knew I’d made the right decision, they are perfect for me and the ‘peace’ and ‘love’ detail on the back is a cute touch. They are chunky enough to slim down my legs but still feel light on your feet and they are just as comfortable as they look. They look so good with my ankle length jeans I’m already planning future jeans purchases around them.
I didn’t take quite as long when it came to choosing a pair for Lucas from their kids collection. As soon as I saw Converse on there I knew I’d be onto a winner, we’ve had a few pairs for him and they always wear so well. These High Street Low Converse are blue and black are chunkier than regular Converse. They look more like a skate trainer and I love, love, love that they have elasticated laces so Lucas can just slip them on and off. I just never know which way it is going to go when presenting him with new shoes but as soon as he saw these they got a big ‘cool’ and he has wanted to wear them every day since. It wasn’t easy negotiating him back into his school shoes – not that I can blame him, I have barely taken mine off either!
Disclosure – I was sent these trainers from Kurt Geiger for review. All words and opinions are my own.

I love these – the colour is so pretty & the Peace & Love on the back is a great touch. Lucas’s cons are very stylish too!
