Living Arrows 1/52

Crosby Dec (1 of 1)-2

I’m so excited to be joining in with Living Arrows again, this will be my second full year of the project and I’ve loved having a photo each week of my boys to look back on. You can read more about it on the wonderful Shutterflies blog but the idea is to basically share a photograph with captures childhood.

“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth.” Kahlil Gibran

I like that looking back over them there are all sorts moments captured on there, little simple things, some big childhood milestones and some fantastic family memories. I can see how much the boys have changed over the year too; the twins are definitely proper little boys now as they’ve left the baby traits behind and more and more they try to copy their big brother.

I thought it would be quite nice to start the year off with a photo of me and the twins. Trying to get these two on a photo together has turned into mission impossible, often I’m not in them either so this is a rare one on both counts. Not the perfect picture by any means but it captured us on a day that was a lot of fun. This photo was taken on a trip to Crosby Beach, it was so, so cold but we still had a quick scamper on the sand until the twins noses turned red, then we had to have our lunch in the car to warm up.

This age is so sweet when everything holds such wonder for them, so many things are new experiences and it still amazes me how special such ordinary things can be when seen through their eyes. They take in so much of what’s going on around them and chatter away wherever we go. It’s exciting to think about what the new year will hold and then I think of how much they will change I just want to try and make the most of it all. I look at Lucas now, running into school looking all smart and grown up in his uniform and I can’t quite believe how quickly it goes. Before I know it this little pair will be doing the same thing, a scary thought and not something I’m ready to think about too much. I hope 2016 brings so many more days like this!

Lovely photo of you 3 to kick off the year! Looks like you blew the Christmas cobwebs away on that beach walk!

The twins have definitely shot up and it’s so nice to watch go through their journey. I think I still can’t believe our boys are in school, but they’ve already done one whole term!
