It’s has been quite a few weeks now since I have joined in with Living Arrows, I hadn’t been picking up my phone or camera to do as much photography. I suppose because we had been stuck indoors while Lucas was ill I hadn’t felt the same inspiration when it came to taking the odd candid snap here and there. Now Lucas is on the mend and practically back to his normal self, the twins have calmed down as we are getting out and about again so I started to fill up my phone with little moments of our week. It’s the school holidays but we have stayed close to home, just a few walks out here and there and stops for cake and ice cream. All pretty standard holiday fun and guaranteed to put a smile on our boys faces.
This photo was taken at Calderstones Park in Liverpool and it is probably our favourite park. We took Nanny with us this time and had a picnic in the sun, even though it wasn’t quite as warm as it looks! I absolutely love the walled gardens in the park, I love walled gardens anywhere as a rule but these ones are fantastic. They are always at their best in Spring and Autumn and especially when the sun in shining. The boys love to follow all the little paths, diving in and out of the flower beds and rushing through the puddles. Lucas had collected some of the fallen petals from the beautiful, blossoming magnolia tree and was bringing them along the path to show me. He quite likes to pick the flowers so we spent a while hunting through the undergrowth for fallen blooms that he could take as his treasure. I came back with pockets full of petals and pinecones.
We’ve really missed these simple moments and I’m so glad I can get back to recording these each week, I’ve missed that too.

Oh Hayley – look at him! He is so pleased with himself. I loved reading this because it reminded me how beautiful childhood is. Everything is so new, wonderful and exciting. Walks, cakes and ice cream – perfection! x
