Living Arrows 31

Strawberry picking seems like a childhood moment everyone has had. I remember doing it every summer when I was younger, there were no fancy farm shops and cafe’s in those days. One of the farmers in our village just set up a cabin in a field and everyone went along to pick their own strawberries. I always loved it, I remember seeing little stripy caterpillars everywhere and the sun always seemed to be shining (probably not the case!) When we got home we would have strawberries with cream, still a favourite of mine.

Our trip strawberry picking was quite as magical as I thought it would be. It started off okay but as Bear decided he didn’t want to be put down, Boo decided to run off through the fields while Lucas was off picking strawberries with Daddy. The end result was two crying children, a very frazzled Mummy and not very many strawberries. Still, Lucas enjoyed it and was happy to show off his finds to the twins. Maybe next year will be more successful!

Your photo has reminded me that we haven’t been strawberry picking yet – a must do summer activity

Yay! So glad you managed to do some strawberry picking too. Yours look much better at picking properly ripened fruit that Freyja was for me!

I never did strawberry picking as a child but love it as an adult. I took the boys a few weeks ago, great fun x

We REALLY need to get out and do some strawberry picking before it’s too late. Love your photo, always nice to see something from a slightly different angle!

I used to go strawberry picking with my parents all the time. I don’t dare take Little Miss because I am pretty sure she will run away and never be seen again. I love that little photo you took and I do hope you had some fun before becoming a frazzled mummy. Hugs Mrs H xxxx

It’s such a shame when you’ve built an activity up in your mind and then it doesn’t quite go to plan. You managed to capture a lovely little moment though. #livingarrows

Ah sorry it didn’t quite go to plan. We have lots of days like that too! Looks like you got some nice strawbs anyway!

I certainly have ‘sweet’ memories of doing this with my family. I’m glad you made the most of this as we don’t have anywhere local to go to pick anymore #LivingArrows

I remember strawberry picking to be a lot more rose tinted than it is when I take my own children too – it’s hard work! x
