Living Arrows 3

We had a very small amount of snow on Sunday so Living Arrows had to be a snowy one this week. I love those mornings when you wake up expecting snow; as we were going to bed we watched it fall from the bedroom window and I told Lucas he would have to open his curtains and check when he woke in the morning. I open the blind and look outside as soon as I wake up. You can usually tell if it has snowed before then as it seems so quiet outside, as we woke up we couldn’t hear the cars and the light was that little bit brighter.

It has already gone which I am glad of for the school run and our snowman has melted away much to the boys disappointment. When they spotted the snow out of the patio doors as they came downstairs all I could hear was chatter about a snowman so after breakfast we wrapped up and went outside to find a patch of snowy grass to play in. This is actually the twins first time out in snow, it snowed last year before they were walking so they only watched it fall out the window. This year being able to take them out in it was the best fun, they weren’t at all nervous like I remember Lucas being his first time. Having each other to play with really makes the difference as they set off finding stones and twigs to put on the snowman, we got a carrot nose to finish him off. Boo kept on adding more and more random stones to the top of his head and Lucas really wanted to add a pair of glasses, we didn’t quite manage to get that far!

As it started to get really cold we struggled to coax them back indoors but a promise of warm juice and a snack did it in the end. Me and my husband were started to freeze but the boys could have stayed out there much longer I think, the cold didn’t seem to bother them when they were busy playing. I had thought this weekend was going to be a write off, we are all a little under the weather and going out in the cold wasn’t going to happen until we saw the snow. It was lovely to put everything on hold and just get out in it, we had a very relaxed snowball fight which Lucas thought was hilarious. We heard a lot of giggles that snowy morning, worth braving the cold for.

Oh how lovely, they’re having so much fun! I love how snow, because it’s so temporary, has a way of forcing you to stop and have fun before you miss it 🙂 Mim x #livingarrows

Hayley the photos are gorgeous especially the first one, you can see that closeness between the 3 of them. It was a perfect snowy weekend wasn’t it? And so great it was gone for the school run on Monday I was so relieved. I just love the excitment of a snow day, that never goes does it?
