This weekend I took my biggest boy out for a day of fun in Liverpool, I didn’t take all that many photos but I thought this one would be perfect for Living Arrows. We’d been to Big Art in the Walker Art Gallery, played in the Frida & Me exhibition at Central Library and ran around the roof terrace overlooking the city. We walked further into the town and got caught in a massive rain shower so ducked inside one the the first places we came to for a milkshake and fries. I had such a lovely day with him, we met up with family and Nanny came with us on the train. We spent the whole day out together and it was nice to have that time with him that we don’t often get. Sometimes he is just crying out for it.

As always with Lucas we seem to go through peaks and troughs. He will always push us a little and challenge us and this week was one of the challenging ones. However, we had a wonderful report from his teacher at parents evening; he is doing so much that we know nothing of and we were both blown away by how much he has come on in such a short space of time. It’s a lovely relaxed school and I think the environment is really helping him, he loves his teacher and his classmates and they are bringing out the very best in him. His teacher had him spot on, ‘it’s all up there’ she said to us, it’s just whether or not he is willing to show it.

Even with all his hard days I would never change him. I know he has a lot running through his head that he can’t quite express yet but his emotions are always there for us to see, good and bad. He told me he had a ‘fantastic day Mummy’ on the way home from Liverpool and he chatted to a little girl on the train while sharing his biscuits with her. There is never a dull moment with Lucas, he has us all up and down with him but I love this little boy who wears his heart on his sleeve.

Sounds like a perfect mum and son day, I think as you say sometimes they are just crying out for it aren’t they. Lucas sounds a lot like Sam, always pushing and having good and bad weeks. Thank goodness for the good ones hey! Xx

Aww he sounds wonderful and that school report must have made you very proud 🙂 I wonder if 4 brings with it a lot of its own challenges. I know z has been like that this year, pushing the boundaries a lot. But you’re right, the amount they are learning in such a short space of time is amazing

Little ones just love a milkshake don’t they. Our boys sound so similar. We had a similar school report. It is all dependant on him. Which I kind of love. Like you I love my days just us, Lil G screams out for it too. I hope you’ve had a lovely weekend x #LittleLoves
