Secret Santa feels like quite a recent Christmas tradition but I do so love it! I take part in a few each Christmas with different groups of friends and it really takes the hassle out of gift-giving. It is perfect for people who like to show some more thought with their gifts. When you don’t have to buy for everyone you can focus on finding the right thing for that special person and enjoy seeing them unwrap it and finding out if you have chosen that perfect gift that makes their face light up. When I was asked if I wanted to take part in the George Secret Santa I couldn’t reply fast enough to say yes please. We were all assigned a partner and given a budget of £50 to choose from the lovely Christmas gift range from George at Asda. Unlike most Secret Santa’s I have done this one is well and truly secret and I have no idea who chose these gorgeous gifts for me but I have to say a massive thank you, if you had been here when I opened up the parcels you would have seen a very excited lady!
The first thing I spotted and was thrilled with is the starry print, George Home Microplush Throw. I can’t find this style on the website now but I chose one for my Secret Santa too and I had secretly hoped that I would get one back. It is so, so soft and snuggly, and a great price at just £6. I wish you could all feel it and see how cosy it is, I love it but I keep having to rescue it from Lucas’ bed as he has taken a shine to it.
A couple of gifts that I could definitely claim all for myself are the Check Knit Scarf and the Fashion Box Satchel. I sometimes think shopping online I wouldn’t have thought to pick these out but when they arrived for me I was actually thrilled with them as they are just my style. The scarf is such a soft material and is nice and long so I can wrap up in it for the school run. The satchel is perfect, it isn’t a massive mum-handbag (or a child’s fox rucksack like I usually carry around) and it isn’t too small so I can still fit all the essentials in. I wore it into Liverpool this weekend for a child-free shopping day and have well and truly fallen in love with it.
I was pleased to be sent a few different things, a few treats for me and a few treats for the home. The George Home Love Pegs Photo Frame is super cute, as luck would have it I have just had a few square prints done from our Autumn photoshoot and they sit wonderfully in this frame. I think I’m going to put this up in our bedroom and I love that I’ll be able to update the photos when I fancy a change. Finally the George Home Chalk Globe was what I really did squeal at when I opened it! It is probably my favourite, a little but quirky and totally fun. It is currently sitting on our dining table and every few days I write a Christmassy quote on it (and try to keep little hands away!).
When I was picking gifts to send to my Secrent Santa partner I couldn’t help but spy a few things that I would’ve have liked too so when this lovely lot landed on my doorstep I was thrilled. I couldn’t have chosen better myself and everything is already settled in nicely in our home and or has been put to good use when I’m out and about. Thank you so much Secret Santa!
Disclosure – These items were kindly gifted to me as a part of the George Secret Santa campaign with the lovely Talented Talkers.
