I don’t like to wish the days away but we’ve started a new week and I am already on countdown to the next school holidays. I know we are exceptionally lucky in having my husband off in the school holidays as he is also a teacher. It means we get so much family time and even though we try to fit around his workload it still means days out and time together. It also means we have a car which I don’t have the luxury of in the week so our explorations can go a little further afield. I didn’t really make too many plans this half term but before I knew it we were booked up every day with friends of family to see and the odd little adventure here and there. The start of the week was cold but even getting out for an hour or two is wonderful and I think for the first time in a long time we made it through the holidays without too much illness.
I was a little spoilt for choice for Living Arrows this week as we had been out and done so much but this one my Bear is one of my favourites. We met some friends at Calderstones Park, it was so cold but after a pit stop with a warm drink for the grown ups and some ice cream for those crazy little ones we braved the playground. Lucas is off before we can even notice he’s gone and now Bear is starting to follow him. He fearlessly climbs up the ladders and steps, throws himself down slides and will run round and round spinning next to the roundabout. Boo hangs back, lets Bear try it all first before he commits. Sometimes he will only go as far as a few steps up the slide then decides is isn’t for him afterall, happy to watch the others. The older they get the more differences I see but they’ll still always come back to each other.
