I’m a day late with our monthly portraits as I had planned a couple of different Me and Mine photos this month but they just didn’t come about. We visited the pumpkin patch which is where I really wanted them as they were our very first family photos last year. I got some good photos of the boys but there was just no chance of getting a family one when the twins were on the loose! Last year my mum had come with us so she was on hand to get a quick photo but this time it was just us, three boys and a wheelbarrow. Then we visited Lyme Park and actually had a proper family photoshoot done (I won a mini Autumn session with NC Hopes Photography which we are looking forward to seeing more of) but I thought we might get chance to take our own there, again the twins were out of the pushchair so it didn’t happen. I must remember to take chocolate buttons with me to coax them over with.
We’ve done plenty over half term when I thought there might be chance for a photo or two but it’s been so busy that I haven’t been organised enough. Instead we took a couple of quick ones today, our last day of the school holidays. This week has gone so quickly and we’ve really enjoyed it, seeing the boys faces when they see new things has made me so proud of this little family of ours. We went to Knowsley Safari Park on Monday and the twins were totally mesmerised by the sea lions. Lucas is kind of getting over that phase were even the smallest of things can blow him away, he’s seen quite a bit now but Boo and Bear are at that perfect age when they can still be wowed. It’s so special to be there to see as they giggle excitedly at something new, I love that they share it with each other.
We seem to have done more than other school holidays and as much as I love our great adventures the days when we can just take it easy are always my favourtie kind of days. My husband goes back to work tomorrow and I have Lucas home until Wednesday. The best thing about this last week has definitely been the lazy mornings; we’ve been staying in our pyjamas until late, eating breakfast when we feel like it and generally just enjoying not having to leave the house at 8.30am. Today we were particularity leisurely and after lunch we headed out to one of our favourite places, Calderstones Park. We had a good walk, a play in the Autumn leaves and let the boys have a run round before stopping at the Ice Cream parlour. It was the perfect way to end the school holidays, even when we only get a couple of grainy selfies for our family photos we’ve made some lovely memories to go with them.

Sounds like you’ve had a fun filled holiday and so good that you’re still off till Wednesday. Z goes back tomorrow but we’ve had a couple of days of reminding him so he’s used to it now. I think I really need to take Z to Knowsley safari park. The last time I went I was 10!!
November 1, 2015 at 8:56 pmAww I love the simplicity of these pics honey. We only just managed to take ours on the last day of the month too. Oddly this month they opportunity to take a family photo just passed me by. I hope the return to the school return goes well x
November 1, 2015 at 9:40 pmSometimes the best photos are the ones that capture the memory of a fantastic day spent with family. I took our photo on the 31st and it’s less than perfect so you’re definitely not the only one this month! I keep telling myself it captures the moment and that is what is important.
November 1, 2015 at 10:50 pmAhh sometimes it’s so hard to get family photos when you’re busy having fun. At least you were all enjoying the family moments. 🙂
Sounds like you’ve had such a brilliant half term and been incredibly busy.
Hope the back to school adjustment goes well. xx
