Current Beauty Favourites

June 13, 2017

Heading into the summer months I usually have a bit of a refresh of my skincare and make up so I’m sharing a few of the products I am loving right now. I can be guilty of getting stuck in a rut when it comes to beauty so I’ve branched out and picked up some new bits and pieces, most of which have been very welcome additions.

RIMMEL BB Cream 9in1 SPF 15

I don’t often wear foundation day to day so BB Cream is my go to in the morning. I have used the No7 BB Cream for years but I fancied trying something new. This one is such great value and I love Rimmel because you can pick their products up from anywhere.  I don’t have any complaints with it; it’s lovely and lightweight but gives enough coverage for me, just enough to even out my skin tone. It feels smooth going on and feels soft throughout the day. I went for the light shade which is perfect for me at this time of year. Looking online it looks like they’ve changed it to SPF 25 which is even better.

RIMMEL Lasting Finish By Kate Nude Collection

This was an impulse buy but I absolutely love it. I find it really hard to find lipstick that suits me, especially nude shades which usually wash me out. The colour of this one is beautiful, I went for shade 45 which is a dusky pink and it’s just enough colour to make it look like I’m wearing lipstick. I’m not too sure about the lasting finish part of it, I don’t think it stays on any longer than other lipsticks but it’s soft and wearable so I don’t mind.

OGARIO Restore and Shine Hair Masque

I buy a real mix of products when it comes to beauty and while I love finding bargains and using highstreet brands sometimes I like to splurge on something new. This Ogario Hair masque is definitely more of a splurge for me but it has been totally worth it. I was in desperate need of something to tackle to frizz and this has done the job, it’s left my hair much softer. I’ve been using it about once a week although sometimes I’ll eek it out for longer and I can see, and feel, a difference. It’s left my hair in much better condition and I’d happily buy it again.

GREEN PEOPLE Special Edition Orange Blossom Exfoliator

I was sent these lovely Green People products for their 20th Anniversary and if you’ve read this blog a while you’ll know that I love Green People. I am always impressed with whatever I use but their exfoliators are some of my favourites. They never use microbeads either which is a big bonus. I always find them super light and gentle, I hate harsh scrubs, and this one has the very best scent. It’s perfect to use in the morning and leaves my skin feeling bright and refreshed.

GREEN PEOPLE Special Edition Damask Rose Hand Cream

I keep handcream all over the house, it’s has become essential to me in the last few years. This special edition Damask Rose one from Green People is just as good as I’d hoped but even better, it comes with a pump bottle! You cannot underestimate how much easier that is to apply. I love the rose scent and it doesn’t feel greasy going on, just leaves my hands soft and smelling wonderful.

B.REFRESHED Essence Lotion

Essence Lotion is a relatively new product to me, it’s come from Korea and is meant to be used in between a cleanser and a serum to hydrate and moisturise. I’d heard people talk about it but thought surely I don’t need another step in my skincare routine? Turns out I was wrong, I use this B.Refreshed Essence Lotion from Superdrug twice a day and I cannot fault it. Most of big brands have an essence lotion product now but honestly I am so impressed with this highstreet, cheap and cheerful version! I just dab it onto my skin after cleansing and my skin feels instantly refreshed. It has definitely brightened and softened my skin, I wouldn’t be without it now.

VITAMIN E SKINCARE Hot Cloth Cleanser

Another Superdrug bargain this one pretty much does what it says on the tin. Although I love Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish I wanted to try a more affordable version of a hot cloth cleanser. This isn’t as good as the more expensive versions but it does the job and for the price it is brilliant.

NIP + FAB Eye Shadow Palette

I spotted this beautiful eye shadow palette Vicki’s blog and it instantly went to the top of my wishlist. I was in a larger Superdrug in Liverpool which has a great range of Nip+Fab products, I keep hearing so many good things about their skincare but I limited myself to this eye shadow palette. It was just £10.95 and I love the neutral shades and that most of them are matte. They are just perfect to use everyday and can be easily built up for a bolder look. The colours are gorgeous and I can see me using this palette a lot.

Contains affilate links. I was kindly sent the Green People products to try out but all words and thoughts are always my own.

Love this round up Hayley, your new products look great. I’ll definitely look into the Green People ones as I’m currently trying to remove any products with parabens or other nasties xx
